These Popular Starbucks Drinks Are Being Pulled From Shelves Immediately Due To A Recall—Customers, Take Note

Starbucks fans— look out for the coffee chain’s ‘Vanilla Espresso Triple Shot‘ 15 ounce bottles, as these drinks might be contaminated with metal fragments. On August 15th, Pepsico (which sells and produces Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso beverages nationwide) issued a recall in 7 states— Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma and Texas— for the ‘Vanilla Espresso Triple Shot’ drinks.

According to a September 8th FDA enforcement report, Pepsico recalled 221 cases of the beverage. Each of these cases contain 12 bottles, which means that the company recalled a total of 2,652 drinks. The expiration date for these drinks has not been determined, and a date for termination of the recall hasn’t yet either.

On September 26th last year, Pepsico recalled over 250,000 cases of the Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso beverages, that time for bacteria contamination or the possibility of foreign objects in the drink. In 2021, the drinks were recalled since the cans contained defective seals that could have resulted in premature spoiling of the beverages, as reported by BGR Media.

Three flavors of the drink were recalled, including Starbucks ‘Doubleshot Espresso,’ ‘Espresso & Cream’ (6.5 fluid ounces), ‘Espresso & Light Cream’ (6.5 fluid ounces) and ‘Espresso & Salted Caramel Cream’ (6.5 Fluid ounces).  There were 85,956 recalled cases of each drink, which all had a best-by date of March 28, 2022. While The Streetreports that these drinks should “all be off the market by now,” consumers could still return them to the retailer where they purchased them for a refund “if they still had them.”
