Aging is a natural process, but many people look for ways to maintain a youthful appearance as they grow older. Anti-aging supplements have gained popularity for their potential to combat signs of aging, such as wrinkled, dull skin and loss of elasticity. These supplements often contain ingredients like collagen, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and vitamins that support skin health.

Robert Love, a neuroscientist who has over 2M followers on TikTok, recently shared the three supplements he suggests to “help reverse DNA damage” and aid in “looking younger.” His top three were NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide), NR (Nicotinamide Riboside), and Resveratrol. Read on to get all his insights.

1. NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide)

NMN works by boosting levels of NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), an important molecule that declines with age and is crucial for cellular energy and repair.

NAD+ supports the repair of DNA damage caused by aging and environmental factors, helping to maintain healthier cells over time. By increasing NAD+ levels, NMN enhances mitochondrial function, which helps sustain energy production and reduces age-related fatigue.

"This basically increases energy in the body and helps repair DNA," Love shares.

2. NR (Nicotinamide Riboside)

As NAD+ levels naturally decline with age, NR supplementation helps replenish this critical molecule, supporting various cellular functions.

"This is another supplement that is similar to NMN," he explains. This also works in a similar pathway and helps increase energy called NAD and helps repair DNA as well.

3. Resveratrol

Resveratrol, a natural antioxidant found in foods like red wine, grapes, and berries, has gained significant attention for its anti-aging benefits. It's an antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals, which are harmful molecules that can damage cells and accelerate aging. By reducing oxidative stress, resveratrol may help slow down the aging process.

"This is actually found in red wine," Love says. This supplement also helps with DNA damage, as Love notes that "by repairing DNA, this can both keep us younger and even help reverse DNA damage," while also helping to "reverse" aging.
