Hearn Kirkwood Sandwich Recall

Processed foods never come without their health risks, but now there's one more reason for concern when it comes to pre-packaged sandwiches from Hearn Kirkwood. The FDA issued an announcement about this recall last Tuesday, November 7, stating that 5,895 clamshell containers of various croissant sandwiches may contain milk and soy. These ingredients were not listed on the nutrition label, which poses a major risk to people with serious allergies and sensitivities.

The following sandwiches from the brands Food Unlimited, Jack & Olive, and Sprig & Sprout have been recalled:

  • Bacon Egg & Cheddar Croissant
  • Le Croissant: Chicken Salad
  • Le Croissant: Ham & Swiss
  • Le Croissant: Tuna Salad
  • Le Croissant: Turkey & Cheddar

These were distributed to 15 states between October 20 and November 3, 2023. These states include Alabama, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Affected sandwiches have "use by" dates between October 27 and November 8. You can find the full list of each product, their use by dates, and their UPC codes on the FDA's website.

Hearn Kirkwood immediately issued this recall after learning that their supplier had failed to communicate a change in the sandwich ingredient. Although no illnesses have been reported, anyone with a milk or soy allergy should discard these sandwiches. You can reach out to [email protected] or call (410) 799-9900 for more information.
