President Trump said that he is not contagious, despite his recent COVID-19 diagnosis. The president tested positive for the virus earlier this month, and was treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a few days before returning to the White House.
The president said that he believes he is not contagious, though health experts do not agree. Many believe that people should self-isolate for at least 14 days after being exposed to the virus to prevent infecting others.
Trump did not self-isolate for that recommended period of time, and now there is question as to whether he may have helped spread the virus.
The president held a campaign rally in Florida shortly after his COVID-19 diagnosis, and most people in the large crowd were not wearing face masks.
There have even been new COVID cases linked to campaign events. According to recent news reports, more than 12 cases of the virus have been traced to campaign events in Minnesota. The events in question were both those in support of President Trump and those in support of democratic nominee Joe Biden.
