King Charles Tries To Evict Prince Andrew

While Prince Andrew isn't allowed at public royal events, he is allowed to call the $37M Royal Lodge mansion home, but public outcry is leading King Charles to the only logical solution: to evict him from the Royal Lodge and offer him a smaller home, Frogmore Cottage, which Prince Andrew reportedly says is too much of a downgrade. Reports of the Prince neglecting his home come from Us Weekly. The publication claims that the Duke of York doesn't have the funds to maintain the 19-century property, and thus the privilege may be taken from him.

While King Charles sees its an issue, he's reportedly struggling to kick his younger brother out for good. Pelham Turner said on the matter, "I believe Charles feels that spending money on Andrew would not go down well. On the other hand, it was allegedly said by the queen on her deathbed to Charles to look after Andrew, who was always thought to be her favorite son."

Prince Andrew Threatens His 'Secret Weapon'

While King Charles grapples with how to politely tell his brother to get out, Prince Andrew is digging in his heels. Reports from OK are saying that the Prince is fighting so hard to keep the property is because he wants to pass it down to his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who, unlike their father, are very well liked by the King, the royal family, and the public alike.

The Sun says Andrew sees this as his "secret weapon," and is hoping it will be the thing that allows him to keep the 30-room home that he currently resides in with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. "The princesses are Andrew's secret weapon," says Ingrid Seward, royal biographer. "They are very popular amongst the royal family and Charles is especially fond of them. They are [Andrew's] passport now [that] he has lost everything."
