Daniela Elser is the latest royal commentator to give her thoughts on Prince Harry; and she didn’t hold back! According to Sky News Australia, Elser, an experienced journalist and editor who has long been turned to for her opinions regarding the royal family, said the Duke of Sussex, 38, was making a “haughty” public spectacle of himself in his bid to “steal the spotlight” from his father King Charles and prove he is more powerful than the monarch ahead of the coronation next month!
We assume some of what she is referring to includes what he said about the royal family in his witness statement prior to his recent court appearance for his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), where he accused the royal family of withholding information related to phone hacking from him, and the many bombshells he has been dropping during his Spare promo trail.
Prince Harry Is Reportedly Desperate To 'Steal The Spotlight'
According to Elser, Prince Harry's appearance at the High Court showed, in her opinion, that he wanted the media attention. Otherwise, he would have arrived in a more private manner! "Harry strictly guards his privacy, and could have avoided the press if he had used the side entrance to the building," Elser said. "Instead he strode to the front doors, wearing a smug, haughty grin, and was surrounded by photographers and journalists who were waiting to see other claimants."
She then went on to say, "Legal wranglings with his old media nemesis aside, I believe the real spiteful purpose of the trip was to outsmart his father and stepmother," because "the visit coincided with day one of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s first state visit abroad since the beginning of the new monarch’s reign."
"The plan was to first [visit] Paris, before moving on to Berlin as part of a six-day travel itinerary. It was inconceivable that another royal would try to steal the spotlight from such a significant occasion," Elser continued, adding, "But Harry’s respect for the monarchy and those working within it has disintegrated ever since he and his wife Meghan stepped back as senior royals in 2020."
She then speculated that Prince Harry would have been thrilled to discover that his court appearance was making headlines when his father and stepmother were on their highly anticipated trip, adding: "The trip gave him the ideal opportunity to prove he was more popular and powerful than the King and get himself on the newspaper front pages." She added: "He did indeed end up grabbing the media limelight, but the King and Queen didn’t give him much competition."
It is therefore understandable why King Charles is so worried about being upstaged at his own coronation. According to royal biographer and commentator Tom Bower, as per the New York Post, King Charles is struggling with how to deal with the Sussexes attending the coronation.
"Paralyzed by fear and indecision, Charles has failed to suppress the Sussexes’ vile vitriol," Bower wrote in The Sun. The monarch is said to have reverted to his habit of "dithering and worrying about his image," Bower continued, adding, "Ever since Megxit, Meghan and Harry have humiliated the King and the royal family."
Harry And Meghan Allegedly Create 'Perfectly Timed Drama'
This accusation comes hot on the heels of a royal insider claiming Kate Middleton, 41, believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, 41, strategically time their events to coincide with her and her husband's events in an attempt to steal the spotlight.
"Over and over again, Kate's had to contend with this 'look at me' behavior from Meghan and Harry, and she really doesn't want them ruining the next few weeks," the source reportedly told The Mirror, in reference to big events she and Prince William have coming up such as their 12th wedding anniversary on April 29th, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte’s birthdays on April 23rd and May 2nd, respectively, and of course, the King's coronation on May 6th. "Their stunts always seem to happen at the worst possible times – on or around important days or milestones," the source reportedly added.
Some of the previous events the Princess of Wales could be referring to include their Megxit announcement, which came the day before her 38th birthday, and the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare, which came the day *after* her 41st birthday. Coincidence? She thinks not! According to The Mirror, it looked like the Sussexes wanted to upstage the Prince and Princess of Wales' trip to Boston for the 2022 Earthshot Prize awards, as they released the trailer for their Netflix Harry & Meghan docuseries at the same time.
