Prince Harry Reportedly Has A Close Relationship With His Mom's Relatives
Royal reporter Jennie Bond told Ok! that Prince Harry deeply cherishes his relationship with his mom's side of the family – who include the late Princess Diana's siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes (the widow of the late Lord Robert Fellowes) and Charles Spencer – and has continued to remain close to them over the years.
Bond suggested that he values his relationship with the Spencer family even more now that he is feuding with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William. And the Spencer family feel the exact same way, if we are to believe reports!
The Spencer Family's 'Affection' For Prince Harry 'Is Reciprocated,' Royal Reporter Says
"Quietly, behind the scenes, it is obvious that the Spencer family have kept the communication channels open with Harry and that their affection for him is reciprocated," Bond explained to the mag.
"I'm sure Harry feels it's important that he still has some kind of anchor here in the U.K. and, for now at least, it seems that it is with his aunts and uncle. And that has to be a positive thing," she added.
If you'll recall, eyewitnesses claimed that Prince Harry was on "remarkably good form" at his late uncle Lord Fellowes' funeral at the end of last month, and effortlessly bonded with his mom's side of the family. "You could tell he was very pleased to see everybody. And he was very pleased that he had come over," an insider told People at the time.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Invited To Spend Christmas With Princess Diana's Family In The UK
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not spent Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham since 2018 – and they may not spend Christmas with them this year either, as they have reportedly been invited to spend it with Princess Diana's side of the family instead.
Meghan Markle may not see eye to eye with many members of the royal family, but she has reportedly been accepted by Princess Diana's family. If we are to believe reports, the couple have already been invited to spend the holidays with the Spencer family at Althorp House.
"Charles [Spencer] has invited Harry, Meghan, and the children to Althorp this Christmas. It's far too early to say whether they will take him up on it, but the offer is there if they want it," an insider told The Express. The insider went on to say that the royal family have yet to ask the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to spend Christmas with them, but the invitation may still come. Whether they will accept the invitation, however, is another story…
"There hasn't been an invitation extended to Sandringham just yet, but that doesn't mean there won't be one forthcoming," the source said, adding: "It would be highly unlikely if there was an invitation extended [to Sandringham], and I don't think they [the Sussexes] would take them up on it anyway."
