While many people believe that Prince Harry and Megan Markle should apologize for their controversial Netflix Harry & Meghan docuseries and some of the things they said in it (Meghan mocking the fact that she had to curtsy to the late Queen Elizabeth II was just one of them) the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly the ones who are expecting an apology!

The Sussexes Are Expecting An Apology From The Royal Family
According to reports, Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, are hoping for an apology from senior members of the royal family for the way they have been treated over the years, which they covered in some detail in their six-part Netflix docuseries. A source revealed to the Sunday Times that they are hoping to “sit down with the royal family” and discuss everything they have been through, in particular, the many ways in which they have been “wronged” in an attempt to put everything behind them and reconcile with the family before King Charles’ coronation in May.
The source didn’t mention which members of the royal family they are expecting to have the sit-down meeting with, but we *do* imagine that it's going to be tricky due to their strained relationships, and given other members' previous attempts to make peace. We already know that the late Queen Elizabeth II tried – and failed – to reunite her son, King Charles, and grandson, Prince Harry, prior to her death; and Prince William, 40, has voiced his disapproval over his younger brother's choices to make the docuseries and write his tell-all bombshell memoir, which is due to be released in just a few weeks on January 10th, so we don’t know whether he will even be willing to hear his brother out.
"Things have been very strained for a while," another source revealed, in reference to their relationship. "There is sadness at where things currently are with his brother… and there’s a memoir coming."
Insiders Hint That The Sussexes Should Make The First Move
The Sunday Times hinted that the royal family will not be the ones to reach out, so if the Sussexes want to talk about things, they will have to make the first move! "If they want to get in touch with the King, they know where he lives," a courtier allegedly told the Sunday Times. "We are deliberately keen to send a message by being voiceless. Our duty is to get on with the job. It isn’t to respond."
Another insider, this time one who is close to the Sussexes, suggested that the couple felt they were owed an apology for the various things they had to endure over the past few years, as "Nothing like that was ever done when Prince Harry and Meghan raised various concerns — no meeting, formal apology or taking responsibility or accountability." The source went on to say: "That is hard to swallow — 100 percent yes they’d like to have a meeting."
Where Do Things Currently Stand Between The Sussexes And The Royal Family?
As things currently stand, the Sussexes have been invited to attend King Charles' coronation in May, and they are expected to attend! Will the family wait 'til then to have their face-to-face meeting about the Sussexes' treatment? Or will there be strict rules in place to not discuss it so as not to overshadow the King's celebration? Only time will tell; although Prince Harry revealed himself that he isn’t holding out too much hope, saying in the docuseries that he has made peace with the fact he "probably" is "never gonna get genuine accountability or a genuine apology" from his family.
