Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Archewell Foundation has come under fire for many reasons over the years – and the charity is once again raising eyebrows after some new very revealing documents were recently uncovered.

Documents reviewed by The Post reportedly reveal that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have funneled $600K to progressive Democratic causes through their charity since it was founded. Royals aren’t supposed to have political favorites, and they are definitely not allowed to vote in elections, so this has raised eyebrows among some people, including the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation.

It is also seen as a major blow to King Charles and Prince William, as they have maintained a good relationship with President Donald Trump since his last presidency – and Prince Harry and Meghan’s charity donating to Democratic causes (including one with a direct link to Joe Biden) is seen as a conflict of interest. Archewell Foundation's Financial Contributions

As per The Post, Archewell allegedly gave $146,500 to independent media strategist Jiore Craig back in 2023. According to The Guardian, Craig has been called the Democrats' "go-to" for "countering disinformation," and is known for her deep ties to the Democratic Party.

Craig previously received $120,000 from the foundation in 2022. Additionally, the charity contributed $25,000 to the Marcy Lab School in Brooklyn, where Craig joined the board in 2024. According to her LinkedIn, Craig said she "designed and deployed Smart Social Listening – strategies for political candidates, public officials, community leaders, and corporate leaders to stay on offense."

Another significant recipient of Archewell funds was Markup News Inc., a New York-based nonprofit, which reportedly received $90,000. The organization is also supported by Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, and the Open Society Foundations, which is linked to billionaire Democratic donor George Soros.

The charity's biggest single donation, according to reports, was to the Women's Wellness Space, a Pennsylvania-based charity set up by former President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley Biden in 2023. Archewell reportedly donated $250,000 to the charity, whose mission is to help women impacted by trauma.

The Heritage Foundation Wants Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Donations To Be Scrutinized By Congress

Nile Gardiner, a fellow at conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation – yes, the same think tank that wanted Prince Harry to be deported from the U.S. after admitting to using drugs in his memoir, Spare – has reportedly demanded that Congress investigate Archewell's financial activities, arguing that the donations contradict the expected political neutrality of royalty.

"Harry and Meghan still retain royal titles and should not be engaging in any way in political activity. It's actually outrageous," Gardiner said, according to The Post.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Spokesperson Responds

In response to the controversy, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan dismissed the claims made by the Heritage Foundation via a statement to The Post. The statement suggested that neither Harry nor Meghan has endorsed any political candidate, emphasizing that their donations were made to support social initiatives rather than political agendas.

The statement read: "In response to The Heritage Foundation's unsubstantiated claims, it's important to note that The Duke and Duchess did not endorse any candidate in the recent election, and to suggest they're trying to curry favor with the Democratic Party — simply because a donation went to Ashley Biden's nonpartisan nonprofit focused on women's mental health, or because they hired a consultant specializing in digital safety — is misguided at best."

"While the Heritage Foundation may use its nonprofit status to mask political agendas, the Duke and Duchess are committed to investing in people and initiatives that truly make a difference," the statement concluded.
