Ulrike Grunewald’s Harry — The Lost Prince documentary, which aired on German network ZDF on December 6th, is the gift that keeps on giving, as even more revelations about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come out.
We already know that Prince Harry was left furious after the late Queen Elizabeth II didn’t give him “exactly what he wanted” when he and Meghan wanted to step down as senior royals back in 2020. And we also know that he and the former Suits actress are not very popular with their Montecito neighbors due to their “lonely” and isolated life. But what else did the documentary reveal?
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Accused Of 'Bordering On Corruption' By Profiting From Their Royal Titles After Megxit
According to The Mirror, The Royal Report podcast host Jack Royston discussed Prince Harry and Meghan's "dealings with Hollywood" since stepping down as senior royals in 2020. And he essentially accused the couple of "bordering on corruption" due to how they seem to be profiting from their royal titles despite no longer being working members of the royal family.
Royston referenced Prince Harry wanting to be "half in and half out" of the royal family after stepping down as a senior royal, and said he disapproved of how he and the American Riviera Orchard founder were using their royal titles for their own financial gain, as it was something the late Queen did *not* want to happen.
The late monarch reportedly explicitly told her grandson that she didn't want him to use his royal title for his own financial gain, which he still appears to be doing.
Royal author Angela Levin previously recalled that the Queen told the Spare author that being "half in" and "half out" of the royal family "actually doesn't work." According to Levin, the Queen reportedly also told him: "I don't want you to use your position within the royal family to make money."
Royston commented on the late Queen's wishes by saying: "If you have a situation where Harry and Meghan are earning huge amounts of money in Hollywood trading off their reputations, but then they're also bolstering their reputations by working for the Queen – they're able to present themselves on the world stage as being these working members of the royal family who are also available for a price."
"That is a huge compromise to demand off the monarchy," he continued, adding: "If they were to be perceived to be promoting their commercial projects while representing the Queen, then that's also... starting to border on corruption there because they should never be using the monarchy as a platform."
Royston went on to discuss how the couple slamming the royal family in Prince Harry's bombshell memoir Spare and their Netflix Harry & Meghan documentary hasn't done them any favors, adding: "The particular way in which Harry and Meghan crashed out of the royal family, firing hand grenades at Harry's relatives, caused their reputation to be significantly damaged. And that has had a major impact on their capacity to make the world a better place because a lot of people just aren't listening to them at all!"
