Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they’ll no longer cooperate with British tabloids!
The bold move striking back against UK’s notoriously ruthless papers was made via letters to the editors on Monday, and is sending shock waves around the world.
Calling their reporting "distorted, false or invasive," the letter released by the couple's representative asserts that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have "zero engagement" with the publications going forward.
The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Daily Express and The Daily Mirror were targets of Harry and Meghan's wrath, with the couple stating that they won’t, “offer themselves up as currency for an economy of click bait and distortion.” Yikes!
They also said that stories based on “salacious gossip” have been detrimental to many lives--not just their own.
In January, the duo announced their plans to step down as senior members of the royal family, seek financial independence, and even move out of the country.
After wrapping up their final obligations to the crown in March, the couple moved to British Columbia, Canada, and then California just weeks ago.
This isn't the first time the couple has been vocal about the price their family has paid due to the incessant coverage of their every move.
Harry spoke out against the public mistreatment of his bride, and he has also pointed a finger at the paparazzi for pursuing his mother Princess Diana when she dies in a car crash in 1997. Yes, the feelings run deep.
