When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage began in the summer of 2018, the couple seemed happily in love as ever. But Tina Brown’s new book, “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor — The Truth and the Turmoil,” which gives an inside view of the Royal Family’s trials and tribulations, reveals that there may have been more than meets the eye at the beginning of this whirlwind romance. In fact, Brown writes that this couple share a “mutual addiction to drama.” Uh-oh!

Inside sources told Brown that the events leading up to the royal wedding were especially drama-filled: “All drama, all the time,” she writes. “Meghan’s MO was seen as revving up Harry when she sensed any obstruction.”

There were seemingly countless feuds between Markle and her soon-to-be in-laws—sometimes, even the staff was involved. Brown recounts instances where Markle participated in arguments about the wedding regarding everything from the tiara that would adorn her head on her special day to the particular tights that would be worn by the flower girls.

It's safe to say that Brown's book portrays Markle as nothing short of a Bridezilla. One source noted that the wedding-planning elicited "a lot of raging" and "in-person shouting in front of other members of staff." However, Markle and Prince Harry's relationship was stirring up drama within the family long before their engagement.

The couple's romance began to blossom in July 2016. The two met one fateful night at London's Soho Club, and the rest, as they say, is history. Two dates later, and they were taking a romantic (and expensive!) trip to Botswana.

Prince William was immediately concerned about the pace and intensity of his brother's relationship. "Within months of Harry's involvement with Meghan, he reportedly told his father that his younger brother's obsession with her was 'like something I have never seen,'" Brown says. There's nothing like a sibling's intuition!

It wasn't just the nature of this whirlwind romance that worried the prince's family. It seems they also disapproved of the way Meghan treated the family's employees. "I've certainly never heard of a member of the Royal Family talking like that to a member of the staff," one of Brown's sources noted.

The drama continued when the couple took their first royal tour together; Markle was reportedly in a *mood* the whole time, and brought her beau down with her. It seems the couple fed off of each other's negative energy, making for a mess of a tour. Brown writes, "[Markle] apparently hated every second of it. She found the itinerary of engagements ‘pointless,’ a former Palace employee told me.'” Yikes!

Allegedly, when the couple finally made their decision to leave the Royal Family, they had ulterior motives in mind. "They thought … it would force the Royal Family to respond by saying … 'Okay, Harry and Meghan, what do you want? We’re going to give you want you want,'" one of Brown's sources dishes.

Of course, things didn't go according to plan, leaving Prince Harry and Markle shut out from the family. We won't take any sides here, but if these claims of a "mutual addiction to drama" are true, one thing's for sure: at least this match made in heaven still has each other!
