Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were famously kept in the dark about Kate Middleton‘s cancer diagnosis, as she and Prince William didn’t think they could be trusted with the information given the secrets they spilled about the royal family in the past.
And while we don’t know whether they were told about her surprise appearance at Trooping the Color on June 15th before the rest of the world found out the day before, we *do* know that Prince Harry and Meghan are trying their hardest to improve the communication between themselves and the Prince and Princess of Wales. If we are to believe the latest reports, of course.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reportedly Reached Out To Kate Middleton Amid Her Cancer Battle
According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are showing an interest in the Princess of Wales and her ongoing cancer battle, but appear to be getting their updates from other people (and perhaps even the media) as opposed to the couple themselves. An insider revealed that the communication between the Sussexes and the royal family still isn't great, and they aren't getting much of a response at the moment…
"Both Harry and Meghan have been following Kate's recovery with huge interest, but sadly it's had to be more from afar because their lines of communication with the palace and the Waleses, in particular, are very limited, to say the least," the insider told Closer.
"They have had enough information to know that people are excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate and they're both relieved and happy to hear that she's on the mend and may soon be well enough to return to her duties," the source continued.
Prince William And Kate Middleton Reportedly Still Keep Communication To A Minimum
Despite their interest and empathy, the Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly still keeping their distance, and keeping communication with the Sussexes to a minimum. But that reportedly doesn't seem to stop the Sussexes from trying to reach out in an attempt to repair their bond once and for all.
"They've jointly reached out to send well wishes, but they're still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response," the insider said, adding that this "hasn't stopped them from trying to connect" with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The insider added: "When Kate gets back into action, their hope is that it might take some of the heat off them and possibly trigger a truce with her and William, and with the King, too." We're keeping everything crossed!
"All they can do is continue to reach out and offer olive branches," the source also said. "Despite all their bad blood, [Meghan's] heart does go out to Kate – she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her." The source added: "Meghan has made it clear she'd love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone's sake."
