Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just released their annual holiday card featuring a photo of themselves against a festive green background, wishing everyone a happy holiday season, but for many, it was not well received. For one, their children, Archie and Lilibet, are missing from the card, both in photo and in print, and for another, the ex-royals referred to themselves on the card as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Which is weird, considering how much they say they want to distance themselves from the Royal Family…
Meghan and Harry have been facing backlash lately for their silence on the matter of Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame. In the Dutch version of the book, which has since been recalled, Scobie named Kate Middleton and King Charles as the individuals that Meghan alleged made comments about the color of Archie’s skin. Meghan Markle & Prince Harry's Holiday Card
The card features a photo of the happy couple smiling and mid-clap in front of a large crowd. The photo is from the closing ceremony of the 2023 Invictus Games, which took place in September in Germany. Harry is wearing a black suit with a black dress shirt underneath, and Meghan is wearing an emerald green strapless gown with floral details. The green actually brings out the green in Prince Harry's eyes very nicely.
The top of the card reads, "Prince Harry & Meghan," in a regal script. Beneath it, in smaller letters:"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation."
Then, their holiday greeting: "We wish you a very happy holiday season," with 'happy holiday season' written in the same script font as their names. In closing, it says, "Thanks for all the support in 2023!"
Not Very Much Love For The Ex-Royal's Holiday Card
People posted the holiday card to Instagram, and in the comment section, many users made clear their real opinions on the card. "Of course they use their titles when it benefits them," one comment reads.
"Omg.. Didn't they not want anything to do with the royal family?" asked another person. "Take your titles out and be normal people then? Total joke."
"Where are their children?" another user asked.
"Usually holiday cards include the whole family," one user pointed out.
"Can't believe they still use Duke and Duchess after everything, shame on them!!!" said another person.
"Oh my god...the NARCISSISM!" one user wrote.
"Again, no kids?? Only use them when needed to promote themselves," another person added. "Sickening."
"I just don't understand why they want to separate from the royal family, but they use their titles at every turn," a final comment reads.
