Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been worried about what the release of his bombshell memoir would do to their relationship with the royal family; but things could be about to get worse as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly snubbed a personal invitation from the King and will *not* be flying to the UK for the holidays! Yikes!
The Sussexes reportedly have no plans to spend Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham this year – the first Christmas without the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the first Christmas with King Charles III on the throne – amid the ongoing tensions within the family, which are likely to be elevated even further with the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, on January 10th, 2023.
According to The Mirror, a royal insider says that tensions are high within the royal family, and relations are “near rock bottom,” as the title of Prince’s Harry’s memoir had “caught” the family completely “by surprise.”
“Being the ‘spare’ is still at the forefront of his mind all these years later, and he clearly feels belittled by it,” Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, said.
Potential consequencesRoyal author Tom Bower also weighed in, telling The Mirror that the book could have a whole number of consequences – one of which could be Prince Harry and Meghan’s children’s titles being taken away, with a more extreme version being that they themselves could have their remaining royal titles stripped too!
