Worse Than The Jubilee! People Are So Mad At Prince Harry And Meghan Markle After Their Latest Announcement To Visit The UK
August 17, 2022 by Maria Pierides
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have just announced that they are planning to make an official visit to the UK next month – but as expected, it’s being met with a *lot* of criticism! According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be heading to the UK at the beginning of September to attend several charitable events, the first of which being the One Young World Summit in Manchester on September 5th. It will be their first visit to the UK since they came for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, which they controversially left early.
It’s currently not yet known whether they will bring their children – three-year-old son, Archie, and one-year-old daughter Lilibet. The children *may* potentially stay in Montecito, California, partly due to Harry and Meghan’s busy schedule, but also partly because their great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, might be too busy to actually see them! Harry and Meghan’s visit clashes with a very important date in the 96-year-old monarch’s diary, as it falls in the same week the new Prime Minister is due to be announced and asked to form a Government by Her Majesty. We have no idea what’s going to happen!
It’s not just the UK that the parents-of-two are visiting, as they are also expected to fly to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event, before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards, for which Meghan is a counsellor (alongside Justin Trudeau, Sir Richard Branson and Jamie Oliver, to name just three) on September 8th.
Sounds like it’s going to be a busy few days for them! And even though they are coming for good, charitable causes, the announcement of their visit has actually been met with some criticism on social media.
Twitter account @things_royal said: ” Smacks of desperation! ‘We hate the UK and how dare they not fund our security, the British public and the British media are racists, our family is racist… blah blah blah.’ But guess what they will come to the UK because they need footage for Wetflix!!”
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge fan account @loveforcambridg wrote: “And why is that important and needed to be revealed? They aren’t royals anymore and the vast majority of the people don’t care about these two traitors! They really should stop pretending to still work for the Firm and live their lives in the present, not the past.”
And royal commentator Angela Levin added: “Harry and Meghan coming to UK for ‘charities close to their hearts.’ Will the Queen be in Balmoral, and William in USA for Earthshot? Is this part of an attempt at an alternative royal family?” She then said, “Odd time otherwise before H’s ‘bombshell’ memoir,” in reference to the imminent release of Prince Harry’s tell-all book.
Levin also voiced her concerns on GB News on Monday, August 15th, saying, “You can’t make money out of the British Royal family, it has to be respected.” She went on to add: “I think anyone that admires the way that Harry and Meghan are behaving are extremely wrong and should be ashamed of themselves.”
Of course, Levin herself received a lot of criticism for her comments, with one Twitter user saying: “While #angelalevinisaliar continues to make money out of the #Sussexes at every turn. A Hypocrite of the worst kind!” Another added: “Royal biographer cries bitterly because a couple are able to make money where she can’t…”
