Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making headlines once again, and this time it’s for their very exciting website that just launched. How exciting!
The Archewell website for Meghan and Harry’s new organization, also named Archewell, went live on October 20th.
For now, the minimalistic website simply displays the organization name as well as an explanation behind the name. According to the website, “arche” is a Greek word meaning “source of action” while “well” is a plentiful source or supply; a place we go to dig deep. The site also features an email sign-up form for subscribers to get the latest information on Archewell.
According to an official statement obtained by HuffPost, Meghan and Harry explained what Archewell means to them.
“Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global Covid-19 pandemic but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be,” Harry and Meghan said.
“Before SussexRoyal came the idea of ‘arche’ — the Greek word meaning ‘source of action,’” the couple explained. “We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon.”
While more details about the organization remain vague and few and far between considering it’s all still very new, we do know that the organization has filed paperwork that shows it will cover emotional support groups, education, and well-being. We can’t wait to see what the future of Archewell has in store for Meghan and Harry!
