Prince Harry Tells ‘Good Morning America’ That William Feud Would Have Broken Their Mother’s Heart
In an interview with Good Morning America, the Duke of Sussex, 38, said that their mother would have been “heartbroken” by the brothers’ current relationship. “I think she would be sad,” Prince Harry confessed. “I think she would be heartbroken that it’s ended up where it’s ended up. I think she’d be looking at it long term to know that there are certain things that we need to go through to be able to heal the relationship,” he added.
And one of those things, we imagine, is “accountability,” which Prince Harry has referenced on several occasions on his Spare promo trail. “I don’t think that we can ever have peace with my family unless the truth is out there,” Prince Harry told Michael Strahan. “There’s a lot that I can forgive, but there needs to be conversations in order for reconciliation, and part of that has to be accountability.”
Prince Harry to @michaelstrahan on rift with his family: “What people don’t know is the efforts that I’ve gone to to resolve this privately, both with my brother and with my father.” https://t.co/3H8haerzWR pic.twitter.com/Fa45y4D3V4

Prince Harry Says Prince William Knocked Him To The Ground During Fight About Meghan Markle
Not only does the Duke of Sussex discuss the sibling rivalry between him and his older brother, who he described as his “arch nemesis” in the book, but he also references some of the physical fights the pair have had on several occasions too – including one more recent fight that was about Meghan Markle! Yikes!
In excerpts from the book that were published by The Guardian last week, Prince Harry alleged that one year after marrying the 41-year-old Suits actress, his brother started a physical fight that resulted in Harry being knocked to the floor.

Prince Harry Details Alleged Physical Fight With Prince William In Memoir
According to the publication, Harry wrote that William wanted to talk with him about “the whole rolling catastrophe” of their relationship and difficulties with the press. However, as The Guardian revealed, when William came to Nottingham Cottage, Harry wrote that his older brother was “piping hot” with anger, leaving him without time to prepare for a confrontation.

Harry added that the two began exchanging words and that the fight “happened so fast.” Harry continued, adding that it was “So very fast.” Harry went on, “He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

Harry then wrote that William encouraged him to strike him back, bringing up their physical fights as kids, with the Duke of Sussex stressing that he refused. Harry said the Prince of Wales then left but came back, “looking regretful, and apologized.” Ultimately, Harry said William later called him and said that Harry didn’t “need to tell Meg about this.”

While Harry noted that he didn’t immediately tell his wife about his fight with William, he ended up informing her about the whole ordeal after she noticed muliple “scrapes and bruises” on his back. Harry said that Meghan “wasn’t that surprised, and wasn’t all that angry,” but instead was “terribly sad” to hear about the incident.

“The saddest part of it was this wedge created between myself and my brother so that he’s now on the institution’s side,” Prince Harry said. “Part of that I get, I understand, right, that’s his inheritance. So, to some extent, it’s already ingrained in him that part of his responsibility is the survivability and continuation of this institution.”
