Backlash From 'Spare' Reportedly Caused Tension Between The Sussexes
According to In Touch Weekly, the former Suits actress was reportedly growing "very concerned" about the longevity of their brand after Prince Harry's confessions in the memoir, which an insider said caused tension between them.
"She’s always supportive of him, but behind closed doors, the backlash from the book has caused some tension," In Touch Weekly's source spilled. "Meghan’s worst fear is that Harry’s loose lips could blow up everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve in California and tarnish their brand." This could be even more damaging, in Meghan's eyes, now that they have been evicted from their Windsor home and don’t have a base in the U.K., meaning they *have* to make their new life in California work for them!
"She encouraged him to write about his journey because she thought it would help him process his emotions from losing his mother and all that he went through at the hands of the monarchy. She also wanted him to tell their love story, of course," the source continued, before going on to say that Meghan was seemingly caught off guard with some of the reactions to the revelations in the book, particularly that she was still blamed for Prince Harry's feud with the royals, despite him confirming that she didn’t influence his decisions.
The source said: "She gets blamed every time Harry goes against the royals, no matter how often he insists he makes his own decisions. It’s no different with the book."
Meghan Was Happy To Let Harry 'Take Center Stage' Regarding 'Spare'
Perhaps this is why the mom-of-two was happy to take a back seat during the Spare promo. Us Weekly reported back in January that Meghan wanted to lay low amid the backlash from the memoir, with a source saying: "Meghan has been keeping her head down in Montecito, taking care of the kids and working on projects that are coming up in the months ahead."
The insider went on to say that Meghan was "happy to let Harry take center stage," adding, "He’s flying all over the place to promote Spare but most of the time he’s returning home to Montecito and not staying out of town very often because he wants to be with the kids."

Prince Harry To Discuss Personal Trauma With Expert
Later today (Saturday, March 4th at 12 p.m. ET) Prince Harry will sit down with 79-year-old controversial Hungarian Canadian doctor and The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness & Healing in a Toxic Culture author Dr Gabor Maté for a virtual live stream, whereby they will have an "intimate conversation" to discuss "living with loss and the importance of personal healing."
Maté is reportedly an expert in topics such as trauma, addiction, stress and childhood development, and he and Prince Harry will reportedly unpack his trauma in the virtual event which fans (and critics alike!) can purchase tickets for at $33.09 and submit questions for the Duke of Sussex to answer. According to princeharrymemoir [dot] com everyone who purchases a ticket will also be given a free hard cover copy of Spare.
At the time of writing and publishing, the live stream has yet to happen, so we can only imagine what will be discussed, although we bet that it won’t be without its controversy, as Maté himself is regarded as a controversial figure. According to the Daily Mail, Maté, a Holocaust survivor, previously "compared the murderous terrorists of Hamas to the Jewish heroes who rose up against the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943" and has also "contributed to a pro-Kremlin website that defends brutal regimes around the world."
