Prince Harry Reportedly Thinks Meghan Markle Is The Best Person To Modernize The British Monarchy
Levin told Wootton that Prince Harry was unhappy that the former Suits actress wasn't asked about her own thoughts about modernizing the monarchy – something which Prince William is very keen on doing if we are to believe other reports – when she first joined the royal family.
"He believes – and this must surprise you – that Meghan is the one who should take over as Queen," Levin said. "He does what he's told, and he thinks that it was very bad that Meghan wasn't questioned about what should be done to make the royal family up to date," the Harry: Conversations with the Prince author added, before suggesting that Meghan too thinks she is more suited to the job than the Princess of Wales.
"And [Meghan] said herself that she felt that they should have asked her what should be done rather than Kate because she is a self-made woman and she's got much more experience. Now that's a killer sentence."
Could Meghan Markle Ever Become Queen?
Could Meghan ever become Queen of England? Yes and no! Only Prince Harry as a blood prince could ever technically become king, so Meghan could become 'Queen Meghan' or 'Meghan, Queen Consort' (like Camilla) if he was to ever take the throne.
Prince Harry is currently fifth in line to the throne, so it isn't completely unfathomable. He is currently behind Prince William and his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in the line of succession.
The Late Queen Elizabeth II Did 'Everything Possible' To Make Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Comfortable
Also in the same interview with Wootton, Levin talked about how the late Queen Elizabeth II went above and beyond for Prince Harry and Meghan, referencing how she gave them many options for their future. But in the end, Levin said, Meghan was always going to take Harry away from his family and the U.K.
"The Queen did everything possible. She gave them top aides to help her and she did say that Meghan could carry on acting if she wanted," Levin explained. "The more you think about it in retrospect, the more you see that, whatever happened, [Meghan] wasn't going to stay there."
"She was going to take Harry away because she got what she wanted: A title and lots of money," Levin continued, adding; "But he hasn't got as much money as she wanted, she's a bit upset about that. She thought it would be more."
