Five years later and the rift caused by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the royal family has only grown wider. For the past five years, Prince Harry has been fighting a legal battle to win back his state-backed security that was stripped from him and his wife back in 2020. Last week, the case came to a head, and Harry himself has said that “his worst fears have been confirmed.” Keep reading for more information.

Prince Harry's Security Legal Battle

When Harry and Meghan left the United Kingdom for the United States, they did so thinking they had a team of security following them. However, just one month into the Californication of the monarchy, that security team was gone. And the government committee responsible for state-funded security, RAVEC, has held fast ever since.

In the years since, Harry has been fighting back, even going as far as to truly believe that the removal of security for his family was a deliberate tactic of control and one of the main reasons for their years-long feud. Harry has since admitted that this realization "was difficult to swallow."

'Worst Fears Have Been Confirmed'

Last week, Prince Harry spent two days at London's Royal Courts of Justice, closely following the proceedings of his appeal about the removal of his automatic state-backed security for him and his wife in 2020. His team argued that RAVEC had "diverted" from its standard procedure and left Harry and Meaghan "singled out for different, unjustified, and inferior treatment."

While what happened inside that courtroom hasn't been shared publicly yet, Prince Harry said to People that his "worst fears have been confirmed by the whole legal disclosure in this case—and that's really sad."

"People would be shocked by what's being held back," Harry added, speaking of the information not being released to the public.
