Prince Philip has now been in the hospital for the better part of a month, and on Monday he was moved to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital for further treatment for an infection. However, his son Prince Edward recently spoke out, revealing that his father was beginning to feel better. He shared with Sky News, “As far as I'm aware, well I did speak to him the other day, so he's a lot better thank you very much indeed, and he's looking forward to getting out, which is the most positive thing.”
According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, Prince Philip recently underwent heart surgery, and is recovering after a successful operation. “The Duke of Edinburgh yesterday underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at St Bartholomew's Hospital,” they wrote. “His Royal Highness will remain in hospital for treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days."
Sources have told Us Weekly that Queen Elizabeth has been, “handling the stress and sadness with great dignity,” and “Prince Charles, in particular, is making a real effort to step up. Elizabeth is the first to admit that he has been her pillar of strength.” However, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah looming on the horizon, the Queen is said to have a lot on her plate. Details are still emerging about Prince Philip’s health status, but it seems for now he is stable and recovering well from his surgery after spending 16 nights in the hospital.
