The internet is still asking a lot of questions about Kate Middleton‘s whereabouts and wellbeing following her abdominal surgery in mid-January – and now Prince William‘s alleged affair is being brought into the mix too.
Could the Princess of Wales be staying out of the public eye because she and the Prince of Wales are divorcing due to his alleged affair? At this moment in time, the internet isn’t ruling anything out!
Kate Middleton Controversies
Although the Princess of Wales, 42, released a picture with her three children on Mother's Day *and* was spotted in the car with husband Prince William, 41, the day after, both of those things were met with a huge amount of controversy and did nothing to reassure the public that she was ok!
If you'll recall, the Mother's Day picture came under fire for being poorly edited, leading the internet to speculate that Kate wasn't really in the photo. Similarly, the picture with Prince William in the car outside Windsor Castle also caused the internet to think that the picture was edited and Kate wasn't actually there. Many people on social media even went as far as to speculate that the woman in the car next to Prince William was Rose Hanbury, Kate's former friend who Prince William allegedly had an affair with.
Stephen Colbert Brings Up Prince William's Alleged Affair
It's not just social media that thinks Prince William's alleged affair could have something to do with Kate's disappearance, as Stephen Colbert also mentioned it on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"The kingdom has been all aflutter by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton. Well now internet sleuths are guessing that Kate's absence may be related to her husband having an affair," Colbert said on the show. "Oh no, my heart goes out to Kate. Now let's dish the hot goss," he added.
"So I think we all know who the alleged other woman is, say it with me, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley," he continued, in reference to Rose Hanbury, before going on to mock the name. "There have been rumors of an affair between William and the marching band of chicanery since 2019," he explained, adding: "According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it he laughed it off saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating."
He then joked, in a faux British accent: "'Ha ha, imagine me having an affair, it is to laugh! It reminds me of a joke, knock knock, who's there, oh it's my illegitimate son. I've knocked up my mistress.'"

Commenting on an Entertainment Tonight post on X about the alleged affair, one user wrote: "Like father like son." Another unimpressed user added: "Marchioness of Homewreckery did you say? If not true, you'd think she'd rush to clear her name of adultery. So heartbreaking for their children and spouses."
"Meghan's PR working overtime," quipped one user, in reference to Meghan Markle, as another stated: "We the public need @piersmorgan and his @PiersUncensored crew on this one." Another user summarized some of the rumors: "Supposedly, Prince William has several baby mommas. And allegedly, Rose Hanbury is one of them. Rose Hanbury is (or was) Kate Middleton's close friend. Rose even lives nearby. Rose had a daughter 7 years ago and the child is rumored to be Prince William's child. Find Kate!"
