Rumors have been swirling around Kate Middleton’s health status now that the Princess has been out of the spotlight for months now since her “planned abdominal surgery” in January. Though the royal family did say that Kate Middleton would taking a step back from her royal duties until Easter to recover, fans are very suspicious as to why Kate hasn’t been seen in public.
The matter was not helped by Kate’s recent Instagram post, a Mother’s Day card that fans immediately noticed was photoshopped, which only lead to more rumors, including that this whole health situation is just a cover up—for Kate and William’s divorce. Apparently, this was the final straw for Prince William, and according to reports, he’s “deeply upset” by the rumors surrounding Kate’s health. Keep reading for more details.
Kate Middleton Photoshops Her Mother's Day Card
Kate posted a photo of herself smiling, surrounded by her three children, George 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5. It looks like a wholesome picture at first glance, especially with Kate's sweet caption: "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C."
But upon closer inspection, the photo has clearly been doctored. For instance, a portion of Charlotte's sleeve appears to be missing, and her hair seems to have an artificial pattern. Additionally, on the bottom left side of the photo, edges of the tile they're standing on appear to be repeated.
A "mandatory kill notice" was issued by the Agence France-Presse, and the Associated Press, Reuters, and Getty images withdrew the photo as it "appeared to have been manipulated."
After the photoshop failure went viral on social media, the Princess of Wales issued an apology on X, formerly Twitter, writing, "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
However, this has led to many fans wondering if the picture is even real at all. The photo is the first official picture we've seen of Princess Catherine since her surgery, which has sparked many rumors of the photo being a distraction from what could potentially be a larger issue and a bigger question: where is Kate Middleton?
Other fans are less concerned about Kate's health, and rather think that this whole situation is a cover for something much bigger.
Prince William Is 'Deeply Upset' By Rumors Around Kate Middleton's Health
Many fans have speculated that the Prince and Princess of Wales are getting a divorce, and that their relationship is what's being covered up by all this drama surrounding Kate Middleton's health. Royal fans are pointing to Rose Hanbury, an old friend of Kate Middleton's, as the center of their supposed divorce. There have been rumors about an affair between her and Prince William since 2018, and they're not dying down.
"If my husband cheated on me with one of my best friends hell yeah I would be out of the spotlight for three months," one user posted on TikTok. "Kate Middleton is like every one of us and needs time to rot in bed after getting her heartbroken."
Rumors like these—and worse—have made their way across social media platforms, and according to the Daily Mail, Prince William and Kate Middleton are "deeply upset" and "angered" by all the negative discussion around her and her health. However, many fans are pointing out the same solution: Have Kate Middleton step out in the spotlight just for a minute, to quiet down any rumors. And yet, she is still nowhere to be seen.
