Prince William Was Notably Absent From The Paris Olympics

According to reports, Prince William, 42, didn't attend any of the Paris Olympics this year because he "didn't want to risk" catching Covid and bringing it back to Kate Middleton, who was still undergoing preventative chemotherapy for cancer at the time.

The Prince of Wales reportedly made the confession while visiting the reopened Birtley Community Pool in Tyne and Wear on October 3rd.

Prince William Reveals The Real Reason He Didn't Attend The Paris Olympics

"Did you manage to get out [to Paris]?" British Olympic swimmer Tom Dean asked Prince William during a conversation with Olympian Adam Peaty and Paralympians Maisie Summers-Newton and Louise Fiddes, as per Hello!

"No," he reportedly replied, adding: "I was so keen to come, but I have to say after reading someone's interview about Covid I decided, because my wife was obviously having chemo, that I didn't want to risk bringing Covid home, so Adam very kindly reminded me that that was still a thing!"

Although they didn't attend the games in person, the Waleses reportedly watched the games very closely. "We watched the whole thing. We were glued to it every day," the Prince of Wales confirmed, in reference to his wife and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
