After Prince Harry confirmed that he will be attending his father King Charles’ coronation in May, we can’t help but wonder how the royal brothers will greet each other. Prince Harry and Prince William—who have not been seen together since the funeral of their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II in September—are expected to keep their distance at the coronation.

The coronation will also be the brothers' first live meeting since the release of Harry's astonishing memoir, Spare. Harry's memoir included details about their intimate family history, how the royal family reacted to his mental health, and recent spats between the Duke of Sussex and William. The Duke of Sussex will allegedly be seated several rows behind his brother William and other senior members of the royal family for the coronation at Westminster Abbey, according to the Daily Express.
Sources told the outlet that the seating arrangement was deliberate and was made to prevent the estranged brothers from having any sort of "awkward encounters" at the ceremony. Harry will probably sit next to his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, according to the publication.
Members of the royal family are predicted to give the Invictus Games founder the "cold shoulder" and that they will have "no interest in speaking to him apart from exchanging pleasantries," the source for the Express also noted.
Ingrid Seward, a royal biographer, agrees that Harry will likely be snubbed by his family at the coronation. She specifically told the Sun that Harry and William have no plans to reunite during the event.
"Out of politeness you'd think Harry would want to mingle with his family no matter how difficult that might be for him," the Majesty magazine editor explained. "They all have really tight schedules, but it would be nice to stick around and be friendly."
Seward also claimed that Harry has been in constant communication with his father Charles. She believes that they are on the path to reconciliation. "I'm glad he has spoken to his father, which has eased the path to rapprochement. Charles will welcome his son," she said. "I think his relationship with William is for another time."
Harry will attend the coronation alone, leaving his wife, Meghan Markle, in America with Archie and Lilibet. Charles was allegedly "very disappointed" that his daughter-in-law would be missing his coronation.
"The king is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his 'darling boy,' will be at the abbey. He wanted him there," a source revealed to the Sun. "It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won't see Meghan or his grandchildren but understands the situation."
Right after the coronation on May 6, Harry is expected to jet back to his home in California. This is because the date is also his son Archie's fourth birthday—which is why Meghan is not expected to attend the ceremony.
