Prince William And Kate Middleton Reacting To A Joke About Prince Harry At The BAFTAs Goes Viral On TikTok: ‘Kate Enjoyed That’
August 25, 2023 by Maria Pierides
When Margot Robbie made a joke about Prince Harry at the BAFTAs in 2020, everyone in the audience laughed – including Prince William, who has been the president of the BAFTAs since 2010, and Kate Middleton! The Barbie actress made the joke when she was reading Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood co-star Brad Pitt‘s acceptance speech for the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award, which he won for his role as Cliff Booth in the movie.
Margot read out Brad’s speech, which was full of jokes may we add, but his closing joke about the Duke of Sussex and his exit from the royal family understandably got the biggest laugh from the audience. While holding up the award, Margot said: “He says that he’s going to name this Harry because he’s really excited about bringing it back to the States with him. His words, not mine!”
Naturally the cameras zoomed in on the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when the Babylon actress made the joke, and they could be seen laughing with the rest of the audience and then applauding. And now, a clip of their reactions has resurfaced on TikTok – and unsurprisingly, many fans took to the comments section to have their say!
Commenting on TikTok user @princessmiddleton_’s 18-second clip, which was captioned, “Margot Robbie slayed with that speech,” one fan said that Prince William and Kate were both “good sports” about the joke, which came less than one month after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they would be stepping down as senior royals. Another said, “Kate’s enjoyment of that did not need to be faked,” followed by a crying laughing emoji, as someone else simply wrote, “Wowww,” followed by an awkward face emoji and the crying laughing emoji.
