Prince Harry‘s trip to the U.K. for an event celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral is almost upon us, with one question still remaining: will he meet with estranged brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton? If we are to believe the latest reports, the answer is no!
According to The Daily Beast, a close friend of the Prince of Wales confirmed that he would *not* be meeting his estranged younger brother during his brief trip to the U.K., as he still feels “betrayed” by what he wrote in his bombshell memoir, Spare.
Prince William Reportedly Won't Meet Prince Harry While Kate Middleton Is 'At Her Most Vulnerable'
"Both sides understand each other's position clearly now," the insider spilled. "William and Catherine felt completely betrayed by Harry's memoir."
The insider added: "They don't speak to Harry and Meghan, and they are certainly not about to start when Catherine is at her most vulnerable."
We know that both Prince William and Kate were extremely hurt by what Prince Harry wrote in his explosive memoir – as well as what he said in some of the promotional interviews – with many sources since then claiming that the "trust has been broken" in their relationship. This was proven when he found out about Kate's cancer diagnosis at the same time as the rest of the world, as the Prince and Princess of Wales didn't trust Prince Harry or Meghan Markle to keep the information to themselves.
Prince William Reportedly Wants To Protect His Family From 'Stressful Situations'
Another source reportedly told the Daily Beast that Prince William doesn't seem bothered by the fact that his father, King Charles, is more open to seeing Prince Harry and repairing their relationship. However, his ultimate goal is to protect his wife and children from "stressful situations;" and Prince Harry appears to fall in that category.
"The whole situation doesn't use up a huge amount of their mental energy anymore," the source said, adding: "William and Kate have accepted it and moved on. Cancer puts things in perspective. William respects his father's wish to reconcile with his son, but his focus now is on protecting his family from stressful situations."
