The ongoing feud between Prince William, 41, and Prince Harry, 39, seems to be getting worse by the day, as royal insiders are now predicting that the brothers have “no plans” to see each other in person unless it’s for very serious circumstances such as a family funeral, for example.
This comes following the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, 42, will unsurprisingly not be leaving their home in Montecito, California to spend Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham later this month.
Prince William Reportedly Has 'No Plans' To See His Younger Brother Again
According to Page Six, royal expert Sarah Hewson told Fabulous magazine that the Prince of Wales has "no plans" to see the Duke of Sussex again, and predicted that they may never see each other until the next family funeral. "It's very difficult to see any other occasion, other than perhaps a family funeral, where the brothers would be in the same place together," Hewson told the mag.
"We have only seen Harry return for big family occasions – he came with Meghan for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, he came back for Prince Philip's funeral, then for his grandmother's funeral," Hewson said, adding: "And then of course for his father's coronation, which albeit was a very fleeting visit. But we don't have any of those big family or state occasions on the horizon. I can't think of any upcoming royal marriages, christenings, in the diary which would bring Harry back."
Hewson then discussed the possibility of the Sussexes spending Christmas with the royal family, and said it would naturally be "very awkward" if they did end up attending. As far as we know, the Sussexes will be spending Christmas in California with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
Prince William Cuts Prince Harry Out Of Family Photos
The feud between the brothers has now turned petty, as Prince William actually went as far as cutting his brother out of family photos in a tribute to their father for his 75th birthday. The Prince and Princess of Wales shared three photos to their Instagram account on November 14th to wish King Charles a happy 75th birthday, but the sweet birthday wishes were not what fans noticed. Instead, eagle-eyed fans pointed out that the couple deliberately cut Prince Harry and Meghan out of the family photos, proving that the royal feud is nowhere near over.
The first photo is a throwback pic of Prince William and King Charles sitting on a log wearing ski jackets, snow pants, and ski boots. Beautiful snow-covered mountains serve as their backdrop as the father and son smile at the camera. The second photo is a more recent close-up of the birthday boy himself, dressed in a blue pinstripe suit, a crisp white shirt, and tie with blue bow ties on it.
However, the third photo is what captured the internet's attention the most. The third picture is a family photo of Prince William, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, King Charles, and Queen Camilla; and Prince Harry, Meghan, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet's absence is rather obvious.
"Four people missing from that last picture," wrote one fan in the comments. "You would think from this post he only has the one son," quipped another, as someone else said: "That's just sad to leave out Harry! What's wrong with these people!" "Where's Harry? How petty," commented another. Another wrote: "I know this is not about Prince Harry and his family but leaving him out of the pictures is so sad," followed by a sad face emoji. "He is still King Charles' son and Prince William is still his brother. He is still Family," they added.
King Charles Is Reportedly In 'No Rush' For Reconciliation
Prince William and Prince Harry aren't the only ones suffering from the royal feud, as Prince Harry's relationship with his father doesn't seem to be much better, either! Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English revealed last month that the subject of Prince Harry and his decision to leave the royal family in such a dramatic way is one that brings King Charles "great pain." According to her source, there is "barely any level of communication" between the father and son, stemming from anger on both sides.
While Prince Harry believes he is owed an apology, King Charles feels he, and the rest of the royal family, are the victims in the situation. "There is undeniable anger at the anguish the King believes Harry caused the late Queen in the last years of her life," English explained. "Not to mention the insults he has heaped upon his own wife Camilla, of whom Charles is understandably protective."
"Charles is a man who notoriously hates confrontation and will never close the door on his younger son," English continued. "But sticking to his guns, he has rejected Harry's demands for an 'apology' and put the whole issue to one side for the time being." A different source also reported that from the King's point of view, "there's no rush to patch things up."
