According to reports by Us Weekly, royal expert Nick Bullen says, “All of my sources tell me that they are not talking at the moment.” However, referencing their communications at Prince Philip’s funeral, while Bullen admitted they were “frosty,” he said he believed it was ultimately a good step for the brothers for the future of their relationship. “It’s pretty clear that the Duchess of Cambridge was doing her best to build the bridges,” he continued of Duchess Kate Middleton. “Softly, softly seems to be the order of the day.”
The brothers are next set to reunite in July at Princess Diana’s statue unveiling at Kensington Palace, where reports have recently emerged that both Prince William and Prince Harry have insisted on giving separate speeches to honor their mother. According to a source for The Sun, “You might have thought they’d go for a joint statement and speech but that’s not the case. Each has insisted on preparing their own. It is a big concern that their body language will suggest all is not well and they won’t present a united front.”
Another source told The Sun, “There is, of course, hope the memory of Diana can repair their relationship but that seems a long way off right now.” Only time will tell if the brothers will be able to remedy their relationship, but hopefully tensions won’t be running too high in July to honor the memory of their mother, Princess Diana. Either way, all eyes will be on the pair for this event, as both Meghan Markle and the Queen are reportedly not planning to attend.
