King Charles Reportedly Didn't Take Away Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Titles Because He Was Worried About Potentially Facing Backlash
Although King Charles did eventually take away Prince Harry and Meghan's HRH (His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness) titles after they stepped down as senior royals, he has refused to strip them of their Sussex titles that were gifted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day in May 2018. And that's apparently because of his own issues with his image!
As per RadarOnline, an insider dished: "The king was especially stung by Harry labeling him an emotionally cold father in his scathing memoir, Spare. But the monarch is very concerned about his image and fears backlash from his subjects. That's why he'd never dare take away Harry's Sussex title – despite all the hurt he's caused."
King Charles Has Reportedly Given Prince William His Blessing To Remove Prince Harry And Meghan's Titles
Prince William, however, doesn't seem to have these concerns. And he appears to have his father's blessing to remove their titles too!
According to RadarOnline, "cowardly" King Charles isn't brave enough to take away Prince Harry and Meghan's titles himself, but he has apparently given Prince William his blessing to do so when he takes the throne because the monarchy is unhappy with how Prince Harry and Meghan are using them.
"The royals are absolutely furious that Meghan continues to flaunt the Sussex title for her and Harry's own self-gain," an insider told RadarOnline, adding that "when King Charles does pass away, it's a certainty that William will pull the trigger and strip her and Harry" of their titles.
Prince William Will Reportedly Be A Tough Ruler
Prince William's future ruling style has been discussed on several occasions over the years; and it seems like he will be taking a no-nonsense approach. An insider told InTouch back in January: "It's no secret that anyone who pushes back against him will be swiftly shown the door. He's not willing to take any nonsense, and the word is he's already on his way to being the toughest ruler the family has ever seen."
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard has echoed this in the past, and previously told Fox News Digital that Prince William is already "making strategic decisions that will benefit the crown."
As Prince Harry, and of course his disgraced uncle Prince Andrew, have both humiliated the royal family – Prince Harry with his bombshell memoir, Spare, and Prince Andrew with the sexual assault allegations against him, as well as his alleged friendship with Jeffrey Epstein – they can expect to be very fearful of what their future will hold once Prince William takes the throne.
"He values loyalty and will not allow anybody to further tarnish the family name," Chard said. "The Sussexes and Prince Andrew, and in fact, anyone who oversteps the mark, will be kept at a distance."
