Kate Middleton Says That Prince William Won’t Be Buying Her Roses For Valentine’s Day
The Princess of Wales chatted about the upcoming holiday during a visit to the Leeds Kirkgate Market in Leeds, England on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Middleton stepped out to promote the start of her new Shaping Us campaign. The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness of the importance of a child’s first five years of life. The campaign is a part of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which Princess Kate launched in June 2021.
While walking around the market, Middleton stopped at a flower stall where florist Neil Ashcroft spoke with her about his business and presented her with a bouquet. Referencing the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, Ashcroft noted, “No doubt William will be buying you some red roses.” According to Ashcroft, Princess Kate replied, “I don’t think he will do.” The florist, who has sold flowers at the market for over thirty years, said he wished he’d been able to make a sale to the princess.
“I offered her a discount. I said I would give her a card and knock off the VAT [tax],” the M&D Flowers owner said. But she reportedly still denied any flowers. Ashcroft added that he appreciated his chat with Middleton, who “acted very genuine.”

The royal couple, Prince William and Princess Kate got married in April 2011, and Middleton previously revealed that her husband sent flowers and a card when they were apart for their first Valentine’s Day as newlyweds. Prince William was away because of his deployment as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot.
After the brief conversation with the florist, Kate continued to move through the market and chat with vendors and connect with members of the public who were out shopping. She also discussed the significance of children’s early, formative years.

Prince William Affair Rumors
With the news that Prince William will not be buying Princess Kate roses or any other flowers for Valentine’s Day, many are reminded of the affair allegations against the prince in 2019. And, Prince William’s sordid past was dug up quite a lot in December 2021 following the November 30th release of Christopher Andersen’s explosive book, Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, in particular, the prince’s dating history prior to proposing to Kate.
However, in January of last year, these allegations regarding a woman from Kate and Wills’ past came back. Allegedly, Prince William was having an affair with a woman while Kate was pregnant with their third child, their now three-year-old son, Prince Louis!
Rumors of Prince William cheating on his pregnant wife with Rose Hanbury, 38, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley (who was actually once a close friend of Kate’s!) first started circulating in April 2019. In response, Prince William took legal action against the British publications that printed the “false and highly damaging” allegations. He also threatened to do the same to any other publication that printed them. Maybe that’s why Prince William and Kate’s relationship seems to be rocky with Valentine’s Day around the corner. Princess Kate should take a page out of Miley Cyrus’s book and buy herself flowers!
