Princess Anne Was Hospitalized
Princess Anne, the 73-year-old sister of King Charles, was admitted to Southmead Hospital, and while has been released and is expected to make a full recovery, it's certainly nothing to be taken lightly.
"Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation," Buckingham Palace said in a statement, adding that "The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."
Reportedly, the Princess was walking the perimeter of her estate when the incident occurred, and while the cause of the injuries has yet to be revealed to the public, the Associated Press reported that her medical team said her injuries were consistent with a potential impact from a horse’s head or legs.
Royal Health Updates
Princess Anne joins the list of Royal Family members that have recently announced medical tribulations. After months out of the spotlight and tons of speculation, Kate Middleton announced in March that she has cancer, and will be undergoing chemotherapy treatment for the next couple months. While she recently made her first official public appearance at the Trooping the Color parade celebrating the King's birthday, she acknowledged on her Instagram page that she is "not out of the woods yet."
Princess Catherine isn't the only royal undergoing cancer treatment, either. King Charles announced shortly after Kate Middleton did that he is also battling cancer. While few details about his diagnosis have been shared, he is also undergoing treatment and taking a step back from official royal duties while he walks the road of recovery. What is happening to the royal family!
