Lady Glenconner shares her thoughts of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
In a conversation with Gyles Brandreth, a former member of Parliament and now, a podcast host, the 91-year-old said, "I think the thing about Meghan was, she had no idea what was expected of her really."
She continued, saying, "I think she just thought it was sort of like being another actress." Meghan Markle was an actress on Suits as well as many other movies and TV shows prior to marrying Prince Harry. But Lady Glenconner explained that the life of a royal can be "extremely boring," and many days consist of just "meeting hundreds of thousands of people that you’re never going to meet again."
On the topic of Meghan and Harry leaving the royal family and moving to the United States, the British socialite said, "I think it was very sad and I feel very sad for Harry." And American politician John Kerry reportedly agrees with her. In a conversation between the two at King Charles’s coronation, Lady Glenconner asked Kerry what he thought about Harry and Megan leaving the royal family, and he responded that he feels "very, very sorry for Harry."
