Sometimes we crave foods that just aren’t great for us. Juicy hamburgers are definitely on that list. We like them plain on a bun or decked out with tons of ingredients and condiments. While they may satisfy our cravings, hamburgers are not the best for our health. Here are 11 reasons why you should never eat a hamburger…

1. They’re full of calories: Most burgers from fast food chains contain over 1000 calories! That’s half a days calories gone to waste.
2. They're loaded with cholesterol: Burgers are full of cholesterol that can destroy your heart health. Some cholesterol is good for your body, but too much can increase your risk for stroke and heart attacks.
3. They've got A LOT of sodium: Burgers are salty and too much sodium can put pressure on your heart and arteries.
4. You’re most likely not getting the meat from one cow: That’s right. That hunk of meat is probably not from one cow. It might even be more than one cow from around the world.
5. You might be at risk for E. coli: Beef is often recalled due to E. coli risks. E.coli is a dangerous bacteria and a serious health risk.
6. You’re exposed to ammonia: That pinky slime you see on the burger is ammonia, which fast food chains inject into the burger. E. coli and Salmonella are often found in the ammonia filler.
7. The bun isn’t doing you any favors: Bread means carbs, and carbs make you gain weight!

8. Added toppings could mean added health risks: If you opt for bacon or mayo on top of your burger, you’re increasing your calorie and carb intake. Not to mention the trans fats and basically everything bad in the burger all over again.
9. The serving size is way too big: According to Everyday Health, the serving size for meat is 4 ounces. A typical fast food burger is between 8 and 12 ounces!
10. The grease and the trans fats can cause heart disease: Many studies have proved that increasing your intake of trans fats can lead to heart disease.
11. You're not just eating meat: Besides the meat not being all from one cow, burger meat can include cartilage and tissues from the cow’s body. Now that’s definitely not appetizing!
