The 2025 Grammys showcased an evening of bold live performances, significant award victories for rising pop talents, and a major fashion spectacle, with numerous musicians and fashion-forward stars flaunting backless dresses.
Leading this trend were first-time Grammy winner Sabrina Carpenter, who embraced an Old Hollywood vibe in a Jonathan Anderson blue halter gown featuring a peplum and a floor-length skirt decorated with feathers, and three-time Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo, who wore a vintage Versace black backless gown with a deep neckline, halter design, and alluring cutouts.

The 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles was a momentous occasion for the ever-so-stylish Carpenter, 25. The "Bed Chem" hitmaker thrilled the audience with live performances of her most beloved hits, including "Espresso" and "Please Please Please." Additionally, Carpenter took home the highly sought-after "Best Pop Vocal Album" award for her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet.
Before all this, Carpenter wowed fans on the red carpet as she channeled the glamour of Golden Age icons like Marilyn Monroe and Shirley MacLaine in her satin powder blue gown by JW Anderson. A glittering pendant adorned her back.

The dress boasted a backless design and feather details. The "Juno" artist complemented her look with platform heels and more diamond-studded jewelry, including shimmering rings and dangly earrings.
The Girl Meets World alum styled her blonde hair in a curly updo, complete with her trademark voluminous curtain bangs. Carpenter's makeup look featured black winged liner, sky-high lashes, white eyeshadow, rosy blush, and a subtle dark red lip liner with shiny gloss.

Olivia Rodrigo Shines In A Black, Vintage, Cutout And Backless Versace Gown
Another style highlight of the evening was Rodrigo, 21, wearing a vintage Versace high-neck gown from the Italian luxury brand's Spring-Summer 2001 collection. The dress featured captivating details such as a prominent keyhole cutout, side cutouts at the ribcage, and an almost completely open back. At the ceremony, she was nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media for her song, “Can’t Catch Me Now” featured in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
Shortly after the "Deja Vu" hitmaker appeared on the red carpet, Donatella Versace expressed her admiration on Instagram, describing Rodrigo's look as "enchanting" and praising the " Good 4 U" singer for exuding "power and confidence" in the outfit. To accessorize, the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actress added a glittery wristlet and matching ring.

As for her glam, fashion icon Rodrigo wore her long brunette tresses down, parted in the center and styled into effortless loose waves. As for her makeup look, the "Driver's License" artist rocked black winged liner, voluminous lashes, pink blush on her high cheekbones and a pink pout with a dark lip liner. Rodrigo attended the event with her boyfriend, actor Louis Partridge.
As usual after catching the Grammys, it's difficult for us to choose our favorite red carpet look, but Carpenter's gown and Rodrigo's dress are major winners in fans' eyes!
