Reese Witherspoon recently posted a new holiday photo featuring her three children to her 30.3 million Instagram followers. The Legally Blonde actress, 48, wore an elegant black dress adorned with silver floral details around the neckline and shoulders. Complementing her outfit, she chose matching shiny black boots, dangling earrings, and a sparkling wristlet.
The picture, taken in front of a Christmas tree, included her daughter Ava, 25, her son Deacon, 21, and her youngest, Tennessee, 12. Earlier this month, Witherspoon had an interview with Parents, where the Big Little Lies star expressed the challenges of balancing a career and motherhood.
On Christmas Day, Witherspoon shared a six-part post featuring photos of her children: Ava and Deacon, whom she shares with her ex, Ryan Philippe, and Tennessee, from her former marriage to Jim Toth. The Cruel Intentions alum captioned her upload: “Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!”
Fans headed to the comments section to share their thoughts on the style icon‘s holiday ensemble and wholesome family photos. “Beautiful,” one gushed as another added: “No denying those children are yours. They all look exactly like their lovely Momma.” Someone else noted: “Beautiful family. Love the decor.” An additional fan chimed in: “Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family.”
In her aforementioned interview with Parents, Witherspoon expressed her gratitude for her friends who are also mothers. “As a working mom, I’m not always around for volunteer activities at school. So, they will sign me up when they know I’m in town and make sure that I get an opportunity to be part of the community,” she said. The Sweet Home Alabama actress added: “It’s hard being a working mom, traveling, and living out what I want to accomplish in this world, and also be a great mom.”
Witherspoon went on: “I feel lucky that I’m surrounded by people who love my children and help care for them.” When asked what her “parenting superpower” is, Witherspoon replied: “Not taking things personally. Occasionally I do—I’m still human—but I create the space for conversations with my kids. We work through conflict well. If there’s any question that comes up about their choices, we talk it out.”
