Speculation about a possible romantic relationship between Reese Witherspoon and Kevin Costner has been circulating on social media lately. Many fans of both the Legally Blonde actress, 47, and the Yellowstone actor, 68, were surprised by the rumors and continue to share their thoughts regarding their potential coupling.
However, a spokesperson for Witherspoon has finally commented on the matter and provided additional information to People Magazine. “This story is completely fabricated and not true,” the rep told the outlet and other publications this week.

While it is unclear how these dating rumors started or where they came from, both Witherspoon and Costner went through high-profile splits in 2023 and many fans are more interested in their love lives than ever.
Witherspoon and her former spouse of 12 years, Jim Toth, publicly declared their separation on March 24th via a statement, which was followed by her formal filing for divorce on March 30th. Their settlement was finalized by August.
Costner, on the other hand, faced a divorce petition filed by his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner in May, where she mentioned April 11th as their separation date. The former couple tied the knot in September 2004, and after a series of complex court hearings, the duo agreed on a divorce settlement in September.
Witherspoon and Toth share one 11-year-old son, Tennessee. The Big Little Lies star also shares two children — daughter Ava, 24, and son Deacon, 20 — with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
This also isn't the first time her team has denied dating rumors this year. The Walk the Line actress was linked to Tom Brady back in April, but sources close to her denied that they were ever involved.
Costner and his ex-wife Christine share three children; son Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, daughter Grace, 13.
Costner is also dad to Annie, 39, Lily, 37, and Joe, 35, whom he shares with ex-wife Cindy Silva. He also shares son Liam, 26, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney.
