Reese Witherspoon Attends Golden Globes With Son, Deacon
Her 20-year-old son, a perfect blend of the actress and his father Ryan Phillippe, chose a timeless black tuxedo with a bowtie for his inaugural awards show appearance.
Fans were amazed by the striking resemblance between the duo, expressing their thoughts in the comment section of a TikTok.
"They could be twins," said one fan. Another user wrote, "Look at her looking at him, she's so proud!!"
While chatting with Variety at the event, Deacon shared the advice his mom gave him to prepare the aspiring musician for the special night: "Gum, hand sanitizer, and be nice to everyone." The interviewer then asked him what time his curfew was, to which he hilariously responded with, "We’ll see. I’m following her tonight. She’s the party animal. I’m going to try to keep up," making his mom burst into laughter.
Reese Witherspoon & Son Deacon Phillippe Spend Time Together At The Golden Globes
Witherspoon and ex-husband Ryan Phillippe share two children together. Their daughter, Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, was born on September 9, 1999, and their son, Deacon Reese Phillippe, was born on October 23, 2003. The couple announced their separation on October 30, 2006, citing irreconcilable differences.
During another interview at the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet, Deacon was questioned by ET about his experience attending the event now that he is grown up; he replied, "It's definitely cooler than when I was little because it makes more sense to me now. This is my first time here, and honestly the best part about it is spending time with my mom."
To further melt his mom's heart, the 20-year-old said, "It's all cool but as much time as I can get to spend with her is [the] best." His kind words prompted Reese to simulate a tear and affectionately place her hands on her chest.
