This isn’t the first time Martin chose to experiment with his facial hair. Earlier this year, he showed fans what he looked like with his beard bleached - admitting that boredom during the quarantine drove him to try out the look.
He shared his bleached look on his social media accounts, simply captioning, “When bored, bleach.”
However, the difference between a bleached beard and no beard at all is quite drastic, as the singer has now proven.
Without his beard, Martin (pictured above in 2019) looks very similar to his younger self, from way back at the start of his career. The singer, now 49, has had an active music career for several decades, beginning in the 1980s when he was part of boy band Menudo, at only 12 years old.
He began his solo career in the early 90s, writing songs in both Spanish and English.
Martin had to cancel his most recent tour due to the pandemic, and has been staying home with his family in Los Angeles and Puerto Rico since.
Martin has been married to his husband Jwan Yosef since 2017. The couple share four children, twins Matteo and Valentino, 12, Lucia, 2, and Renn, 1.
He has shared that his kids helped him to create new music while in lockdown last year. He added that they can be tough critics at times.
"They're picky and they love music. When I come home with something that they don't like, they have no filters. They tell you," the singer told Entertainment Tonight. "Especially this new single… One of the twins, he heard it and then [he's like], 'Nice. Yeah. This I like.'"
Martin isn’t the only celebrity who has been trying out new looks. He may have been one of the first to bleach his facial hair, though many others have followed suit - particularly with eyebrows.
Katy Perry recently showed off a set of bleached brows, though her experiment was strictly for a single outfit. Others who have tried the look include Kim Kardashian and Masie Williams.
