Rihanna Shows Off Her Pregnant Belly In A Monochromatic Red Jumpsuit And Sculpted Breast Plate For The Halftime Show

Rihanna returned to the stage for her first live performance in six years on Sunday, February 12th for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium where the Philadelphia Eagles played the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bajan singer performed a medley of some of her biggest hits, including “We Found Love,” “Diamonds,” and “Work,” to name just three; but it was even more spectacular than we could have ever imagined due to one very special announcement!

The 34-year-old singer – who was dressed in a bold red jumpsuit which was unzipped to reveal a red bodysuit and leather breastplate underneath – one-upped her viral New York City pregnancy reveal by announcing her second pregnancy when she knew the whole world would be watching! Yet another example that proves the “Lift Me Up” singer doesn’t do things by halves!
The pregnancy reveal certainly took viewers by surprise, although fans have now put two and two together and realized that the surprise guest she was referring to in her interview with Nate Burleson was baby number 2! On The Process with Nate Burleson podcast last week, Rihanna said, “I’m thinking about bringing someone. I’m not sure, we’ll see.” What a tease!
Fans previously thought she could have brought Jay-Z out during a performance of “Umbrella” or even boyfriend A$AP Rocky and/or their son, who they welcomed in May 2022. “So when #rihanna told @nateburleson there was gonna be a surprise guest at the halftime show, I’m betting that the BABY is the surprise guest #JustSayin#SuperBowl,” one observant fan wrote on Twitter, to which Burleson replied: “Bingo.” The pregnancy was also confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by Rihanna’s rep.
Naturally Rihanna didn’t let pregnancy stop her from slaying in the wardrobe department, as she looked incredible for her performance in a red ensemble that was styled by Jahleel Weaver and designed by Loewe and Alaïa.
Rihanna wore a red hot Loewe jumpsuit, teamed with a chic and sexy Loewe molded breast bustier underneath, both of which were custom-designed by creative director Jonathan Anderson, and MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon cross low sneakers. She accessorized with Messika jewelry, and a diamond Jacob & Co. watch reportedly worth $72,000! She also rocked two custom Alaïa coats at the start and end of her performance – a red leather puffer scarf and a floor-sweeping red leather puffer coat, both of which came with super-trendy integrated gloves.
And while she didn’t appear to rock any of her Savage X Fenty collection, the same couldn’t be said for her dancers, as they wore white hooded jackets which then opened up to reveal many items from her lingerie brand, including sports bras, boxers and mesh tank tops, which, as her team reminded fans on social media, are all available to snap up online!
As expected, the Fenty Beauty founder’s fans excitedly flooded social media when she hit the stage, and Twitter practically exploded when the “Love on the Brain” singer showed off her baby bump for the first time!
“Imagine being the special guest on the super bowl half time show when you haven’t even taken a drink of oxygen yet! Love Rih!” exclaimed one fan on Twitter, while another branded it “The best halftime show ever.” “I loved it. Nothing over the top, no frills, she kept it simple and reminded us of how many hits she has,” noted another fan. “The choreography, the song arrangement, the red outfit, classic Rihanna,” gushed another, followed by a red heart emoji.
