The royal family has never been the same since Prince Harry‘s bombshell memoir Spare hit the shelves in January 2023. But his tell-all book could soon be the least of their worries, as rumor has it that Meghan Markle could also be penning her own memoir, which understandably hasn’t gone down well with the royal family.
The Royal Family Reportedly Fear The Potential Release Of Meghan Markle's Memoir
Although nothing has been confirmed, there have been rumors swirling for a while that the Duchess of Sussex, 42, could follow in her husband's footsteps and write her own autobiography. According to reports, the mom-of-two could very well go down the memoir-writing route if her and Prince Harry's newest Netflix project, a film adaptation of Meet Me at the Lake, doesn't do well, and they need something else to fall back on.
In the memoir, the former Suits actress could potentially dish on everything from her previous marriage to Trevor Engelson, her strained relationship with her estranged father Thomas Markle and half-sister Samantha Grant, who now goes by Samantha Markle, and even her life after meeting Prince Harry and becoming a royal. And it seems like what she could write about her life after meeting Prince Harry is what's worrying the royal family the most.
"Everyone's worried about the prospect of Meghan writing her autobiography and naming the 'royal racist,'" a royal insider reportedly told The Telegraph, in reference to the as yet unnamed member of the royal family who Prince Harry and Meghan alleged in their infamous 2021 Oprah interview had asked questions about the color of their then unborn son Archie's skin.
The royal family briefly addressed the allegations by releasing the following statement: "The issues raised, particularly about race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately."
