The highly anticipated first iteration of the sixth and final season of The Crown is now available for streaming on Netflix, much to the delight of devoted fans of the Royal Family.
While they eagerly binge-watch the current season, they can also look forward to Part 2, which premieres on December 14th and delves into a plethora of fascinating storylines.
These include the poignant final days of Princess Diana, as well as the romantic early days of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s relationship, which began during their college years.
The Crown Recreates Kate Middleton's Iconic Sheer Dress Moment And Fans Are Loving It
Netflix released first-look pics from Part 2 that recreate a significant part of the start of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges' love story: the infamous 2002 charity fashion show at the University of St. Andrews where Kate rocked a sheer black minidress.
The iconic moment dates back to a time when Princess Kate was not yet a public figure and had just started as a first-year art history student at University of St. Andrews in 2002.
She decided to volunteer to walk in a campus charity fashion show named "The Art of Seduction" where she wore the see-through garment, initially intended as a skirt. William, also a student at the university, was present in the audience at the time.
Contradicting reports exist regarding whether the two had previously encountered each other before they officially started dating a year later in 2003.
Nonetheless, in the popular imagination, largely influenced by tabloids, this was the time when William supposedly first became attracted to his future spouse.
Kate and William famously tied the knot in 2011 and now share three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
Naturally, after Netflix shared snippets of the catwalk recreation scene for The Crown, fans headed to social media and X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts.
One deemed Kate's original dress to be a "knockout" while another added that the scene seems to be "worth the wait" as it has yet to air. Someone else tweeted that "[Kate] looked so charming that I even fell in love with her, let alone the prince."
In addition to unveiling photos of actors Meg Bellamy and Ed McVey portraying the young now Prince and Princess of Wales, the streamer also shared snaps of the entire cast, which includes Luther Ford as a young Prince Harry, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Al Fayed.
