Ryan Seacrest got emotional while watching American Idol this month. The longtime host of the show shared a photo of himself crying while watching the episode that aired on Sunday, Feb. 28. The episode, which featured several emotional auditions, clearly hit Seacrest right in the feels.

He captioned the picture, “The auditions tonight were something else. Not even going to try and blame the onions in my guac.”
The host appeared emotional throughout the episode as well. Clearly, the contestants’ stories had an impact.

Plenty of fans chimed in with similar feelings toward the episode. One wrote, “Love the love the judges bring every week. It really touched my heart.”
Another replied, “My fav part of this show is when they build up someone who is lacking confidence or love on someone who has had a tough road getting to this point.”

One of the more emotional performances of the night came from 19-year-old Ronda Felton who performed “One Night Only.” Ronda opened up about experiencing homelessness in her childhood, adding even more emotion to her poignant performance, which moved Lionel Richie to tears.
Katy Perry assured Ronda, “You don’t have to be strong. You just have to be Ronda and that will take you all the way.”
