There have been endless questions about who will replace Katy Perry as a judge on American Idol since she broke viewers’ hearts and announced that she will not be returning next season.

While there have been many names thrown into the ring – including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and Kelly Clarkson – American Idol host Ryan Seacrest doesn’t think we should discount Jelly Roll!

Ryan Seacrest Thinks Jelly Roll Has A Good Chance Of Becoming Katy Perry's 'Idol' Replacement

"You cannot take your eyes off Jelly Roll," Seacrest, 49, told E! News earlier this month, adding: "You cannot take your ears off of that voice. He is so charming, he's a force in music." He went on to say that "he really brought the best out of the contestants" when he appeared as a guest mentor earlier this season.

So, does this mean that Seacrest actually knows who will be replacing the "Roar" singer next season? We can't say for sure; but even if he does, he isn't letting anything slip, adding: "Maybe, maybe not."

The 39-year-old "Wild Ones" singer clearly impressed Seacrest and other members of the team when he was a guest mentor; including Katy Perry herself! If the "Firework" singer has anything to say about her replacement, then we think Jelly Roll could very well be a firm contender, as she sang his praises recently.

"I was convinced at anything he said," the 39-year-old mom-of-one told E! News last month, and joked: "He could run for president, he could be my pastor, I might go back to church for him. He could sell me anything."

Jelly Roll Addresses 'American Idol' Rumors

And what does Jelly Roll himself have to say on the rumors? Talking to E! about the "Harleys in Hawaii" singer's glowing comments about him, he said: "Find you a friend that talks about you like Katy Perry talks about me in the media. Thank you, Katy Perry. I love you to death."

"She's the same person privately as she is publicly," the "Son of a Sinner" singer continued. "Because every time I've seen her, she's like, you need to be on American Idol. And the first time somebody asked her it was y'all and she was like, 'Jelly Roll.'" He added: "I'd go clean the American Idol toilets if they wanted me to – I'm in."
