If you have caesar salad dressings from Whole Foods in your pantry, experts say now would be a good time to check their expiration dates. According to a September 23rd announcement from the Food and Drug Administration, VanLaw Food Products Inc. is expanding its initial recall of Whole Foods Market ‘365 Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing.’

These bottled dressings, (which were first recalled from some Whole Foods stores last month, Real Simple reports) are now being recalled from Whole Foods stores nationwide, once again. An important tip— these newly recalled dressings have different “best by” dates than the ones before. The FDA explains that these 12 oz. glass bottle salad toppers are being removed from grocery store shelves because they contain “undeclared soy and wheat allergens.”

The first recall is now being expanded to include Whole Foods Market 365 ‘Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing’ with a “Best If Used By Date” of September 21st, 2022 through June 6th, 2023, and incorrect UPC Code, “99482-49027.” The previous recall only included items with a “Best If Used By Date” of Aprill 6th, 2023. Thankfully no illnesses from customers have been reported related to these dressings, but the FDA warns that shoppers who may have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat run the risk of having a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if these ingredients are consumed.

Both recalls were initiated when it was discovered, Real Simple writes, that the products were “distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of soy and wheat allergens.” The main problem was caused after the back label from another product was mistakenly placed onto these very dressings that are being recalled.

Anyone who purchased Whole Foods Market ‘365 Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing’ bottles with Used by Codes (UPC code) 99482-49027, are being advised to discard the product immediately, and are able to seek a refund at the point of sale.
