The One Salad You Should Never, Ever Order At A Restaurant

October 23, 2017 by Emily Belfiore

It's easy to cheat on your diet when you go out to eat. With so many temptations trying to sway you to indulge, it's definitely a smart move to skip the entrées and order from the salad menu instead. But, not every salad on the menu is healthy, especially when they're drenched in secretly unhealthy dressings and topped with carbs. And THIS salad from California Pizza Kitchen is definitely not going to be good for your waistline...

CPK is home to some tasty and inventive pizza creations, but it also has one of the unhealthiest salads on its menu: the Waldorf Chicken Salad. This salad may seem healthy with its lean grilled chicken and low-calorie toppings, but it's actually LOADED with calories -- 1,310 calories in fact!

The salad features grapes, green apples, candied walnuts, crisp celery, field greens, which are all drenched in CPK's homemade Dijon balsamic vinaigrette. This tasty dressing packs a big punch to your waistline with its high fat and calorie count, giving this salad the same nutritious value as three Hostess Chocolate cupcakes, according to Eat This, Not That!

You can save yourself some of the calories by ordering a half serving of the salad. Make sure that you're asking for the dressing on the side, so you can be in control of how much is on the salad and spare yourself some calories.

Wow, who knew that a salad could be so unhealthy?! We'll definitley be mindful of the dressing's calorie count the next time we're ordering salad at a restaurant.
