Salma Hayek has been stunning on the red carpet lately in some super daring gowns. The 56-year-old actress’s style never lets us down and that was clearer during the Cannes Film Festival now more than ever. Salma wore not one but two plunging dresses. She first took our breath away in a dangerously low-cut, form-fitting purple Alexander McQueen gown for the premiere of playboy Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Killers Of The Flower Moon. Shortly after, Salma sparkled in a black, sequined Balenciaga dress with structured shoulder pads, a ruffled trim, and a black velvet belt to attend the Kering Women in Motion Gala. We can’t decide which ensemble we like best!
Salma Hayek Glows In A Plunging Purple Alexander McQueen Gown
Salma was dressed to the nines in an absolutely gorgeous dark purple Alexander McQueen dress to attend the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Killers Of The Flower Moon on Saturday, May 20th. The gown featured a form-fitting bodice with a plunging neckline, a mermaid skirt that clung to her figure, and an elegant short train. And, the dress's shoulders were emphasized with structured, pillowy winged ruffles, and the skirt had a matching ruffle at the knee.
The House of Gucci star styled her brunette hair into a tight bun that pulled her hair out of her ageless face. She accessorized with a striking diamond necklace from Gucci, a matching statement bracelet, a large ring, and diamond stud earrings. As for makeup, the actress opted for a light purple eyeshadow to coordinate with her dress, rosy blush, angular bronzer, and full, light pink lipstick. Salma attended the premiere with her partner François Henri Pinault.
The actress posted two Instagram posts of her look for her 24 million followers. One post showed Salma preparing for the event with her glam team, while another showed the star on the red carpet for the premiere. "Flawless," one person commented, while another wrote, "Beautiful," and a third raved, "This whole look could not be more perfect!" Some fans also couldn't get over how ageless Salma was, "You're actually aging backward," a fan commented, while other fans accused the 56-year-old of getting plastic surgery, "She got some work done on her face," a commenter declared.
Salma Hayek Sparkles In A Low-Cut Sequined Black Dress
Salma really proved her fashion prowess with the sequined Balenciaga gown she wore to the Kering Women in Motion Awards on Monday, May 22nd. The shimmering gown's design had long sleeves, edgy shoulder pads, a dangerously low-cut neckline, ruffled trim, and a black velvet belt tied into a bow at the waist. She accessorized with a pair of ultra-high platform shoes, an eye-catching Gucci diamond chain necklace with a blue gemstone pendant, diamond stud earrings, and chunky rings.
The Frida actress styled her brunette hair in a half-up, half-down updo with two curly tendrils of hair out to perfectly frame her face. She opted for dramatic makeup with a smokey eye, extra full lashes, heavy blush, and a light pink lip.
The star posted three Instagrams of the outfit: the first showed Salma posing with Michelle Yeoh at the event, while in the second post, the actress can be seen posing in full glam and a sultry bathrobe to prepare for the event. The third post showed a full image of the sequined black dress where she discussed how the gown was made in the caption.
"So much work goes into the Cannes Film Festival, from my friend @gregwilliamsphotography whos been photographing me since my first Cannes experience, or my girls from hair, make-up & nails @jennifer_yepez & @sofiatilbury @katewilliams0n who you could only appreciate their artistry if you had seen me when I woke up that day, or the @gucci team who brought me this stunning necklace that I chose just to learn that I wanted to save it for another occasion, to the 270 hours of hand sewing, 1,976,000 black sequins, and 2769 hours of hand embroidery that took to make my 15kg @balenciaga dress," Salma wrote in the caption.
Salma's third post garnered 1.1 million likes and thousands of comments filled with praise for the outfit. "So so so stunning," one fan wrote, while another commented, "You are unreal!" and another chimed in with, "Love your lipstick color," and, "Looking better than ever."
"Why all these filters? You are a very beautiful woman in your 50s, and everyone loves you so why pretend you look 30? I just don't get it," another fan wondered about her ageless appearance. "How come you don't age? You look as beautiful today, as you did on 'Desperados,'" a final fan raved.
