Sarah Jessica Parker just got real about her relationship with Kim Cattrall—and she has a major clarification.
In a recent exclusive THR Awards Chatter podcast episode with Scott Feinberg, the 57-year-old actress opened up about how she feels towards her Sex And The City castmate Kim Cattrall. Just to recap, the two have had ongoing issues that all started when a third SATC was being planned. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the idea of a third movie unfortunately did not push through because of “contractual demands that Cattrall made of Warner Bros., the studio that was to finance and distribute the film.” The outlet says, Reports at the time suggested that Cattrall made her participation contingent upon the studio greenlighting an unrelated project of hers.”
Since the film production company and the 65-year-old actress were not able to reach an agreement, the movie did not happen. Parker shared, “We didn’t do the movie because we didn’t want to do it without Kim.”
But if there’s one important thing Parker would like the public to know, it’s that she absolutely dislikes the term “catfight” when people describe her situation with Cattrall. She emphasizes, “It’s so painful for people to keep talking about this ‘catfight’—a ‘fight,’ a ‘fight,’ a ‘fight.’ I’ve never uttered fighting words in my life about anybody that I’ve worked with — ever. There is not a ‘fight’ going on. There has been no public dispute or spat or conversations or allegations made by me or anybody on my behalf. I wouldn’t do it. That is not the way I would have it. So I just wish that they would stop calling this a ‘catfight’ or an ‘argument,’ because it doesn’t reflect [reality]. There has been one person talking.”
We sure hope the two reconcile under much better circumstances.
