Your iPhone is a remarkable device that you probably can't live without, but it's also an incredibly fragile device and it doesn't take a whole lot to damage it. It's all too easy to think you can balance your phone, eight bags of groceries, and a cup of coffee — until the day you do, your iPhone drops to the floor, and one pretty scary thing happens.

Cracked iPhone Screen
If you protect your iPhone with a solid case and are lucky enough to have it fall and land on the case itself, you might get away with dealing with nothing more than a few scratches. But one of the worst things that can happen to your phone when it falls is a shattered and destroyed screen. If this happens to you, don't rush in to clean up the mess without protecting yourself with a pair of gloves. Not only will wearing gloves prevent you from cutting yourself on the glass, but it will also protect your skin from exposure to potentially toxic chemicals.
What To Do When You've Damaged Your Phone
Even if you've shattered your iPhone screen into a million pieces, all hope is not lost. Immediately take your device to an Apple store so that a technician can try and recover your data. A professional can also let you know if you can get a replacement screen or whether you'll need to replace your device.
